What actually is B.tech a.k.a engineering?... engineering was/is considered as a ultimate goal that has to be achieved by many parents STILL today.. i wrote the STILL in capitals because engineering is the most under rated graduate course at least here in Kerala.. i know this because i myself is a b.tech student... 4 years spending our souls inside various stubborn theories, internal marks harassment, attendance shortages... the list goes on.. these all for what? job? will suffering these earn us a job? i'm not sure.. mugging up a syllabus that was last updated 20 years ago, yeah 20 YEARS ago ... this is not my finding.. this was revealed by an HOD of our college.. the technologies and practices that became obsolete are mugged up by us for nothing... even those who teach us know this is for nothing.. we know this can't go right.. then what the hell is b.tech?.. a university that cannot even publish results within 1.5 years after exams, which didn't even provide a certificate for semester (because they have no printing ink).. yeah that was the explanation they gave..what the hell is going out there.. frequently out of syllabus question papers, cancellation of exams... what the hell is going around... the last time when i was applying for a supplementary exam online , i found out that my photo is missing, it asks me to upload my photo again.. later i heard that the university site was hacked by some kid and deleted the whole uploads.. its ok as this may happen once a while.. last night one of my friend asked to look up the result of a guy whose result was withheld as he didn't pay condonation or something.. i had no idea how i could get the result as the site is well maintained after an attack.. as usual i reached the exam results page and entered his registration number.. THE RESULT IS WITHHELD DUE TO APC

this was the result.. i just puzzled the site by just adding a escape literal in front of the registration number, boooommm , the result appears..

this is much convenient for students but the site is wide open to compromise.. back to our topic B.TECH.. there are 4 kinds of students in a typical self financed engineering college: 1) brilliant students who are dedicated to nothing but studies 2) those guys who have guts to do anything but still manages to clear the papers 3) those who try hard but cant clear the papers 4) those guys who come to fulfill his parents wish not necessarily his out of this brilliant students as you know sit in front rows and write down notes no matter whats happening around.. actually that's appreciable .. those who play the fouls and still wins are a special breed .. they need special mentioning because that is somewhat awesome to carry out.. As a self financed college requires uniform, i am forced to wear it 4 days a week, Friday is off to uniforms..waiting for the bus in the bus-stop with small kids wearing a uniform similar to them is quite embarrassing.. i have encountered many occasions on which some of my villagers asked me "schoolil povukayayirikumalle?" (aren't you going to school?).. then i would answer no.. i can then see a question mark on their face, precisely on their foreheads.. then i said i'm studying in college.. those innocent people then ask me what are you studying for?.. i will answer mechanical engineering.. then comes the questions-- boat mechanic? diesel mechanic? "alla chetta engineering".. oww 10 am class kazhinjit poyatha?.. i usually don't have answers for such questions.. i cant blame them because they are asking innocently as they don't know the hierarchy of studies.. not like some pricks who intentionally asks like "what after b.tech", or " passavumoda enginnering" like that.. One day i was waiting in the bus-stop wearing my uniform.. i usually don't wear watch as i use my cell phone for that purpose.. that day i even forgot to take the cell.. then a girl (she too in uniform) came to me and asked me whether a bus had gone? i said no.. then she asked me "which school am i studying?" , i told her i am studying engineering..then she want to know whether i'm first year. no. i said 3rd year.. she drooled.. ok.. then she asked me the time, i had no watch, no mobile - guess what i answered..:-) she intentionally asked it and laughed at me with a [pucham].. i thought this girl must be studying nursing or b.pharm.. i asked her: chechi enthu cheyyunnu?.. she answered +1 .. i asked in my mind, why the hell did you show off infront of me bitch?.. actaully i wanted to say that girl, in you age you should be blowing balloons girls, not guys .. bye friends.. i have some work to complete.. take care..

bitter memories...

It was a calm morning after a stormy night in which i had actually for the first time in my life hacked into a database... i was so excited to be inside a whole new world.. i was in such a stage that i can't even wait to be in college for telling this to my friends...it's quite natural for everyone i think...so i went to college and i blasted the bomb... pheeewww.. after i told this, everybody was looking into each other's eyes and staring.... then they looked at me as in the way i am joking... someone told HERE COMES THY HACKER.... they all laughed at me and i was like ... what to say i was frowning... i thought it was a mistake to tell them what i did... It is usual that humans will not forgive others who over smart them..i am too... i had no proof to convince them... so i gave up... did anyone of you know how difficult it is to learn something new and when we implement that aspect we learned into something, if no one supports you, its quite embarrassing.. The next time, i actually made some visual clue to believe that i was inside a network and fooled around for some time... when i said this to my friends, they demanded to see it... AND when i showed them what i did, at first they thought for a while.. i was expecting an appreciation.. but they made some foolish statements about my work.. again i gave up... they even told i am hosting a site of my own and i knew the username and password so i could do anything i want... Actually if i had the money to design and host a site, i would have done it so earlier and this blogger will not be in existence... for the third time i was inside a well-known site database and again left a visual clue... i did it there because i wanted my friends to make sure that i didn't owned that site... i told them again... the result was same old laughter, teasing.. even i heard a hilarious comment that ANYONE CAN UPLOAD A HTML PAGE TO ANY SITE IN THIS WORLD WITHOUT ANY HACKING.. i felt sorry for that guy.. if it was like that why would we need site admins, site owners, content managers if anyone can do anything on a site?? Time elapsed.. i carried on my passion no matter what others told.. why they want me to walk in their shoes.. i have a life and i live it... does anyone mind i can't?.. Then came the next arrow... YOU'RE a MECHANICAL ENGG. student and why the hell do you deal with COMPUTER's?...is there any written laws stating that a mechanical engineer cant hack?.. for all the people , i would like to state i deal with my computer not as a engineer... the next question was why didn't you take computer science engineering if you had the skills... i have no answer for this but i can say i am quite satisfied with the path i have chosen.. suddenly after owning an android, i turned to android development.. i stopped talking about hacking.. i kept silence... then also i frequently faced questions..LOL aren't you hacking now?? i said no... then recently i made my phone to run the latest android 4.0 ice cream sandwich .. actually that was in in the alpha stage (development stage with full of bugs) with some apps and functions not working.. i did that because i own a low end android which can't even dream of an official update.. i was curious to experience the latest most sought after piece of software now in the android platform..the bugs was the camera and gallery was not working as the drivers for camera and some lib files for gallery was missing.. when i showed them that, the first thing they told was that this was SHIT... camera is not working.. what kind of phone is this... You own a loser phone... like this... The risk of flashing a phone with unofficial software voids warranty, even then what i did was considered shit.. i didn't aim to blame anyone.. i love my friends and i enjoy with them.... i can't do nothing to change their attitude .. i was,is and will be the same forever.. and i love this... good night..

A hacker's manifesto...

Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"... Damn kids. They're all alike. But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him? I am a hacker, enter my world... Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me... Damn underachiever. They're all alike. I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head..." Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike. I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me... Or feels threatened by me... Or thinks I'm a smart ass... Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here... Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike. And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. "This is it... this is where I belong..." I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all... Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They're all alike... You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you did let slip through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us will- ing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert. This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. ANDROID comes to me....

It was a fine sunny day in august...I decided to buy a new cellphone ... i owned a NOKIA 2700 classic at that time.. It was such a nice set that i was actually in love with it..But... the relation went complicated only after i owned the ANDROID...I went to the shop with a preset mind of purchasing the SAMSUNG MONTE, as it was the topper in my researches... when i reached the store, i saw my gem waiting for me in a cute little green box with a white tint.. yep.. it was a cute SAMSUNG GALAXY POP GT S5570.. Then i almost forgot even to ask a display piece of MONTE.. i just took the POP in my hand and admired it..I purchased it... the cute green android logo on the box was so cute for me to ignore...I it with the SIM and there goes BOOOOOMMMM...

It was running a stock android 2.2 FROYO with a damn Samsung touchwiz interface making the phone look dull.. i needed a pure android feel but in that aspect POP disappointed me as same my scores in the series exams conducted in my college...I drooled around with the phone for a couple of months.. Then i saw a YouTube video of updating the phone to GINGERBREAD... i made up my mind to try that... as in life, i wanted to take some risks.... yes , thus i went on to gingerbread... remember this was about 6 months back... It was only the other day i came to know that Samsung was announced their official update to Samsung galaxy pop just a week before writing this blog.. Then... then came the thing i was searching for... it was called CYANOGEN(mod)....I heard about it from a forum but didn't knew what exactly was that....Google helped me to study about it and i learned that in a near galaxy, there exists a beautiful star known as XDA-forums where hardcore developers and mobile phone enthusiasts met and share their knowledge and expertise, their applications, ROM's etc...Back in the CYANOGEN mod site, i was not able to find my phone a s officially listed as a supported phone..yet i found out from XDA-forums that many dev's like tj_style and squadzone are working on the same galaxy mini sitting across the globe in porting cyanogenmod to the beautiful mini...As they released the ROM, i tested it on my mini( thanks fly out to Mr Yagya gaire for his step by step tut n Edendroid channel on YouTube )... it worked wonderfully...it was fast, looked gorgeous, and the juice was lasting long....

then recently i was actually surprised to hear from XDA-forums that squadzone is porting CM 9 with android 4.0 ICECREAM SANDWICH to samsung galaxy pop... after a day or two i found this alpha release of the rom... A couple more days later, he rocked again waith a new beta release.. i was quick to download and flash thr ROM, awwwwww i own an android 4.0 running mini now.... here in this blog, i would like to share the methods you can try on your mini to make it run better... with all the love...
