India - A land of contradictions..

Yes.. i am an Indian... i am proud of it.. but frankly i dunno what i has to be proud of my country.. million dollar scams? frequent child deaths? malnutrition problems? AIDS? what.... Am sad to say that world's largest democracy is not that good we think..Great Gandhiji told, @ if you have to know India, if you have to feel India , you must goto villages... but now i think If you have to know what is India you have to travel outside India... then compare your experiences and listen to people there... latest report by transparency international, a organisation which monitors and ranks countries according to corruption levels have ranked India in 95 Th place with a score of 3.1... I dunno how many countries are there on this earth but am sure we are not that far from being the last... i wonder if they reevaluate the scenarios and consider our famous 2G scam, commonwealth scam we do have a chance to be the last... every 5 years we vote and elect the same people again and again... Although we know we are going to have the same experiences with each one of them still.... Why don't our election commission provide a option to cast a no-interest in politics vote so we can know how many of us actually is interested in this.. i think only the leaders will have their vote casted.. what we have in common is we have a REASON for everything.. it is this REASON that prevents us in moving forward... i personally like to thrash all the politicians if i am given a chance.. they frame laws and execute for their own well being.. h9o cares about the common people? the opposition parties? nah.. they bark because they have to be in the power next term practicing the same rituals while the then opposition barks at them... Congress and BJP fights with each other... throwing mud over each other like small children do.. Communist party of India is a phenomena i think.. In my village they staged a protest in front of the post office disrupting its service.. i went their for sending a speed post and the workers said today the post office wont work.. when i asked why they said communist party is staging a protest.. what was the protest for? well it was for Barack Obama sending troops to Afghanistan.. sitting in front of a small village post office, the leaders demanded Obama to withdraw the troops in Afghanistan.. how pathetic.. the other comedy was they called for strike citing the reason of food price inflation.. what they were doing was that they were stopping trucks loaded with vegetables in order to show their protest.. wow... CONTRADICTION: the contradiction in the case of India is that even though these million dollar scams occur as frequent as TV serials being aired out daily, we still allows those who did this to enjoy while ourselves acting as nothing happened.. as in my case.. i am now browsing net, eating food, hanging out.. the next day i hear about a million dollar scam.. the media takes it up.. 1 week its show time for the baby... then its over.. again continuing the same routine eating food, doing my things.. :) I am living in Kerala, a southernmost state in India blessed with its natural beauty.. 3-5 months back there was a rage going on here because of the risk of lives of families who live in fear of breaking of a 100+ years old dam.. mullaiperiyar dam.. the protest was too intense that people were literally out there in the streets.. since our neighboring state tamilnadu depends on water from this dam for irrigational purposes they fear if Kerala government rebuilds the dam Kerala will stop giving them water.. so this became a very flammable interstate war... leaders started giving out super hot comments.. people in the border ares started fighting.. vehicles from both states were destroyed by protesters.. Kerala chief minister and tn chief minister wrote about a thousand letters.. still counting.. i think they are planning to build a dam out of that letters.. now i cant hear anything about that dam.. is that still there i don't know.. everyone forgot everything in a matter of days.. politicians , other ngo s everyone... only the people who live under the dam premises lost their sleep.. now that they lost their hope and remains silent.. this is how life goes on in India.. this is how it will be forever if we don't change...
